Fees

Adult ADHD Clinic provide the highest quality, dedicated adult ADHD assessment, treatment and consultation. All our fees reflect this and the ongoing, detailed levels of care, support and information that we provide to our patients and their families, GP’s and required 3rd parties.

Initial assessment and follow up fees

Comprehensive Adult ADHD assessment

Comprehensive Adult ADHD assessment with Consultant Psychiatrist. Includes initial assessment, recommendations for treatment options and copy of a detailed ADHD report which, with your permission, will be sent to your GP.

Assessment includes any additional letters to 3rd parties such as a statement of diagnosis for employer / college or letter for use if travelling with controlled drugs. Student patients will be offered a letter confirming their diagnosis and this will support their entitlement to the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) for those in higher education. If appropriate, suggestions may be made regarding extra time or use of a separate room, extra breaks for exams, use of a mentor and study skills support.

Assessment also includes written copy of the suggested treatment plan to aid memory i.e. details of medication suggested or psychological therapy suggested, practical instructions for medication dose titration and details of sources of self help materials to enhance knowledge and expertise in ADHD. An initial prescription of medication may be provided, if this is clinically appropriate, as well as written information about the drug chosen.

N.B. If it is felt to be appropriate, an ADHD assessment may be offered by online video for the same fee.

If a medication option is chosen it is mandatory to book further follow up so that we can monitor the effect of this, otherwise we will be unable to prescribe medication.

A reduced rate may be offered for an adult ADHD review if you were diagnosed with ADHD in the past, e.g. as a child, and now want a review to see if ADHD is still a relevant diagnosis. We may offer a reduced assessment price as less time may be needed. You would need to provide details of any or all previous assessment(s). Please contact us for further information.

We will only supply more medication if the guidelines for the monitoring of medication have been fulfilled. £675/£825

NB: The cost of one month’s supply of medication varies depending on what form and dose is recommended, but you will have to pay for this at the pharmacy counter if you have a private prescription from us. It is usually somewhere between £25 and £150 but varies between pharmacies, doses and drugs. If you have a GP who is able and willing to prescribe for you then we can offer a shared care agreement to support their prescribing.

Terms and conditions

Payment: Please note that Adult ADHD Clinic is a private psychiatric consultancy and is not covered by the NHS. Our policy is either to receive payment in advance for self funding patients or, for insured patients, we require a policy number and pre-authorization code confirming that the insurer will pay for any and all specified treatment(s). Should the insurer refuse to pay the full amount the patient will be responsible for the remaining fee, for example the excess which insurance may not cover.

Late cancellation policy: If a confirmed appointment is cancelled between 24 and 48 hours of the appointment time (where notice is given during working days only - ie excluding weekends and Bank Holidays), we will retain 50% of the fee paid or the patient will be liable for 50% of the fee if not already paid. If the appointment is cancelled within 24 working hours of the confirmed time or if an appointment is missed, we will retain 100% of the fee, or the patient will be liable for 100% of the fee if not already paid.

Out of hours service: Adult ADHD Clinic does not provide an out of hours or emergency service. For urgent medical advice out of hours please use your local NHS service, for example your GP or A&E if appropriate.

Records: Please note that any hard copies of documentation we receive will be scanned and uploaded to GDPR compliant online records. Hard copies will be shredded to protect confidentiality unless the patient has stipulated that hard copies should be returned to them. Please see our privacy notice on the website for more information.

Telephone / online video follow up: Adult ADHD Clinic reserves the right to decide on which form of clinic is required. In some cases it may be deemed clinically appropriate to recommend a face to face consultation instead of a telephone or online video based one. See prices on website for more information.

Regarding packages of telephone and email follow up: During periods of annual leave when Dr Cubbin is unavailable for consultations, these consultations will be delayed and the time period of the package will be extended to compensate for this. Efforts will be made to find a suitably qualified doctor to cover essential queries during this time.
